Save game not loading (mild spoilers)

I apologize in advance if this is well covered. I'm at work and dont have the time to do a comprehensive forum search on this, but:

After failing to get very far from the start for about 10 tries, i finally made it to the city, and then the lake. On the way back, i saved for the night and was looking forward to picking up where i left off. Unfortunately attempting to load the game I get "no save game" or some such. Any ideas on what went wrong and if i can salvage it?

I was playing in the browser.

Thanks!

Hey Domitian,

I was having the same problem while playing the browser eddition and using Firefox. My problem ended up being that I was deleting history everytime I closed Firefox. I changed that setting and everything was fine so it may be that.

Here's a stickied post the dev posted with save game locations save locations

Hope that helps.

Hmm, i was playing in IE and, checking my options, i don't have it set to delete history on exit.

I may just have to DL the game, jsut didnt want to have to worry about version updates.

Hey guys! I'm late to the party, so my apologies for the delay.

Browser settings would be my first instinct too. If you look in the folder locations Dusky links to above, do you see any files get created/updated when you save your game?

And when you close the browser, are they still there?

Also, bear in mind that the download versions use pretty much the same mechanism for saves. It'll use a different sharedobject path, but the idea is the same. In fact, browser settings can still kibosh those files if not careful.

You can also check if the Flash plugin itself has any settings preventing local file saves. To do that, right click on the Flash window, and choose "Settings." There will be a "Local Storage" slider which controls how much data each website can store locally.

Hopefully this helps. If you're still having issues, feel free to post in the Tech Support section. I tend to haunt that forum more often these days, at least until the game build stabilizes.
