Purifying water bugs.

So when you purify water in a soup can with a small fire, you get a purified water and a soup can filled with ashes.  The ashes in the soup can't be removed normally rendering the can useless unless you happen to be able to place something else in the can displacing the non movable ashes.  You can't purify water in a sauce pan with a small fire so I made a large fire and was able to replace the ashes in the can with some of the ashes from the large fire.  Once the bugged ashes were on the ground they were unmovable again. Also, it would be very nice if you could purify multiple waters with one fire.  Maybe make it where you can do one with a small fire, but a few (3 or so?) with a large.  Or, maybe make it where you can purify multiple waters at the same time in the sauce pan and not the cans?

Hm, those ashes sound like they're probably bugged. I'll check them out, thanks for the tip!And the multiple waters purified in the saucepan makes a lot of sense. I'll add that to my list as well. Probably make it default to a few in the saucepan, but only 1 in the can. Again, thanks!

How to describe the mechanics of this...Set up was like this, doing a water purification I had:Tiny fire in on the ground and some misc gear as well.Back pack on my back full.Rifle on my shoulder.Back pack in each hand, one full, one virtually empty. The incident:Decided to place a water bottle in my hand to remove the water from inside it.I did this while I had a pre-existing back pack with a few twigs in it held in that hand. The water bottle took its place and my cursor was left holding the back pack,I miss clicked somewhere around my characters knee and the back pack was dropped from the cursor, but did not jump to any of the available spaces like on the ground or in the combination box, it was just gone.Closed the items tab to see if it would appear on the ground.Nope, just gone.might not be the best thread for this, but water, fire, and soup cans were all present when this happened.

Hey filadelfiva! That's quite a setup! My guess is that you triggered an item-swapping bug, which is a bit more of a general bug. If you're dragging an item and mis-click someplace, the game tries to return it to where it came from. However, when you click-swap an item first, and the mis-click someplace, the game sees the previous location as already full and gives up.I secretly hoped that situation would be rare (bad programmer!), so that's my fault. I guess one alternative I could try is to simply ignore the mis-click and continue dragging the item. It seems like it should work, though there may be some edge cases were having an item stuck to one's cursor causes its own problems.I'll add that bug to my list, at any rate, and see what I can do. Thanks!
