Extreme Settings (master)

This is the master file for extreme settings, containing both Hot and Cold. I hope you enjoy the added difficulty, though my testing for ESH has proven a smaller difficulty curve.
At this moment, Extreme Settings should be completely compatible with other mods, and comes with a list of getmods files for the most popular.

~~A brief description~~
ES is meant to up the anti-player potential of the game, for those of us who know how to play well at this point... Or any scavengers who just want to try their luck :)
The overall change is the temperature. ES makes the game unbelievably cold in ESC, and clothes maddeningly hot in ESH (if you are wearing as much clothes as possible)- hot to the point where you can no longer wear your favorite DMC Dogman pelt bandoleer!

10/22/2018 Quick Swap Update
I've been working on a new version for the past little while. It's mostly a combat overhaul. I should be able to release the real version soon- the one where everything is accessible through the getmods.php. However, if anyone wants to play around with the new version, download Quick Swap . Instructions in file. Somewhere around 5kb, since there aren't any images.

7/26/2018 Update
I fixed some graphical errors in the hexsheets. In testing, they appeared to be fixed. Let's hope that luck pulls through.

ESH (Extreme Settings Hot) is part of a much larger mod I'm working on that will change the game story, or even put it in another universe. The map is subject to change, and I will hopefully be able to change it, because it has some graphical errors. I am hoping to have a preview I can upload by the end of this summer. Let's cross our fingers, because all I have to do is scrap the old story encounters, make my own encounters, scrap all the old skills/traits and add my occupations list, get alternate start to work again for a merge, and construct my own main story encounters. A small list, I'd say, in the grand scheme of things.

Still do not know how to install this mod

Once you've downloaded it, unzip the file (I prefer unzipping to the desktop, but I don't remember if I have a master folder inside the zip file).

1. Unzip the downloaded folder into a new folder in your Neo Scavenger location.
2. Enter the master folder, and find Extreme_Settings_Cold.
3. Copy and paste ESC into the root location for Neo Scavenger. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NEO Scavenger if on windows and using steam).
4. Open this folder, and find the getmods.php (There should be two or three. I have a getmods for Mighty Mini, and NSE).
5. Copy and paste the getmods you want into the root Neo Scavenger location, if this does not work try using this as your getmods.php (Just open the text file and paste this):

&strModName0=Extreme_Settings_Cold
&strModURL0=Extreme Settings Master/Extreme_Settings_Cold

If this does not work, copy/paste this:
nRows=1
&strModName0=Extreme_Settings_Cold
&strModURL0=Extreme_Settings_Master/Extreme_Settings_Cold

Note: You should also make sure that when you paste the getmods.php, it is named exactly getmods.

Okay, so it turns out that I only had the one getmods.php in the folder. I updated the mod to have all of them (Which now amounts to 4 text documents).

Thanks... But what's with the "Mods used and credit" bit? Extreme Settings is its own mod, and can work alone without the support of other modifications- aside from the winter hexsheet mod, which could be removed if desired, and is not loaded correctly from what I've seen in resent tests. Additionally, explicit recognition for Galahir950 in the readme text file. If this is a reference to the multiple getmods.php files, these are only present so that anyone who currently has any of those other mods installed could easily access the game and/or a needed getmods.php file. These also serve as a demonstration that the Extreme Settings modification is mostly non-intrusive to game data.

As you may have guessed, I'm a level seven dungeon lawyer. I hope that i haven't upset anybody with my above statement. :)
If requested, I will add recognition to anyone who has a modification/s that are in obvious mention or use.

Well, I have no clue. I usually just throw things together. Getmods files are pretty easy, but as far as I can tell, you can't override the hexsheet without deleting the original. Perhaps this is only with other mods installed. I'll give it a quick check.
Also, I have no clue what the exact topic is here.

New Changes:
The new version of the mod includes Extreme Settings Hot, which is no longer a work in progress. There is a new hex sheet, which may be subject to change in the future. Since it's only a setting change, making the game significantly hotter, there aren't any new items in the mod. I want to keep both of the Extreme Settings mods within the master file to be completely compatible with other mods, which means item changes are a minimum.

This is what the hex sheet looks like, and unlike Galihir950's fix, you won't have to copy and paste them into the root image folder. It would still work, but I have a get images file configured. Also, a quick disclaimer, I have no idea how to completely erase things in Gimp. There's an eraser tool that I used, but it only made it transparent to the background. So there are some issues. Please don't mind these, as soon as I find a way to fix them, I'm going to.

Hey I installed your mod and I think I got it working but I'm having a problem getting the custom winter hexes appearing on the map. If it helps, I'm using a mod merge of NSE and MMoD

That may have something to do with the load order of either NSE or MMoD. Extreme Settings should almost always be the last to load. There are a few exceptions, like with Overhaul. However, if it's just the hexsheet not loading, try pasting a copy directly into the base game img folder. Make a backup of the 4 hexsheets there first.

Additionally, there might be a problem with the getimages file for ES. It should look something like this:

That getimage file also has a URL 4 for a new dogman texture, but the alpha is messed up, and I still have to fix it. I might actually have to redo it.

Hope that helps! I plan on uploading a new version soon-ish. This one will be the damage update, and ammo reloading if I get around to it.
