An incident with DMC guards: Should I flee?

When I started this current game I lucked out (I think, that's what I am trying to determine here) I stumbled across a naked man near Zom Zoms, and considering I hadn't ever seen anything aside from Melons and Bad M's in the area on a new file I assumed he was one and bashed him in the face with a stone from my sling. Next turn I am offered a ceasefire, which I accept thinking to save my rocks for somebody with nicer stuff to loot. Very quickly he followed me and started attacking, and I can now see that this naked madman is in fact, a DMC guard. I consider the possibility that all this guy's nice stuff is just lying around somewhere waiting for me, thus I murder the guard and quickly find the spot. The guns and ammo are gone, but I don't care at all for I now have body armor, a helmet, a balaclava and a freaking tactical bag.

This of course makes me VERY happy, and I move onwards to ATN spending a month or two game time searching the area I come up with 12,000 in cash and move towards DMC. As I am nearing the city I consider the off chance there may in fact be a pile of guards waiting to avenge their fallen buddy, but it seems a little bit late to worry about this now. I buy a tracking bracelet, and get everything I feel I can use from the medical center. As I am leaving I see at least 5 guards standing in the same hex just outside the city.....

My question is this: Will they kill me if given the chance, or dose the fact I was able to get inside DMC and leave prove that they don't know about the one guard I killed?

If they guy was alone, and no one saw you kill him, did it even happen? ;) I think you're fine, I think if you were already flagged you'd have known by now, however, I'm not 100% sure on this one. Personally I'd just avoid them or offer instant ceasefire if they initiated combat and I'd expect business as usual.

What I find more curious in your story is the fact that the DMC guard started attacking AFTER you accepted a ceasefire. That sounds odd. Were those two separate occasions (two separate battles) or did it happen in the same one? If it happened in the same one, there could be something fishy there.

Either way, I'd like to hear the outcome of this, so let us know!

Looks like I'm safe for now, they stopped traveling in a pack of 5 and they accept my ceasefire no problem. In answer to your question the guard I killed returned for another fight after the one in which I accepted a ceasefire.

Oh, okay, that makes sense then!

Also, good to have official confirmation that if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it fall, it really doesn't make a sound. XD

The DMC guards don't seem to give a damn if you kill their buddies off and loot their stuff. Makes some sense given that dead men tell no tales, but also makes the game pretty easy as far as farming money goes, since guards are fairly easily killed once you have Unstoppable (or maybe that's more a criticism of how insane Unstoppable is).
