Botany and medicine

Since you get sick at the drop of a hat, it would be nice to see more medical options other than shelling out cash at Detroit or waiting it out and hoping you get lucky.

To that, adding medicinal plants to botany (and possibly tracking?) that can found and brewed into teas & tinctures would be nice. Pulps that can be used to treat bruises and help disinfect cuts would be nice as well.

You can already make the Tannin Tea, using Botany, from wood. Drinking it strengthens your character's immune system for a while, helping him combat any infections. It can be also used directly, to disinfect open wounds.

There is also the Bear Root, chewing which can help fight and even outright remove an array of diseases and afflictions, though it is somewhat random.

Both of those are very often on sale at the ATN trading post.

I study botany myself and I can see where this guys coming from, yes I was amzed by Neo Scavenger's botany finally a game with it implemented properly, but in saying this i beleive it could be taken much further, there are sooooo many more plants they may implement into the game, even simple stuff such as onions can be used as a disinfectant, dock can be chewed and placed on wounds, scottish thistles may be brewed to cleanse the liver (to counter the effect of tannin tea in which tends to be not good for the liver despite its other medicinal uses such as being directly applied to woulds to constrict blood and tissue vessels) as wells as edible, dandelions are also used in this sens, and dandelions roots may alos be charred to create a coffee substitue, and gallium aparine (commonly known as sticky weed) is actually related to coffee and the small balls in which get stuck to ppl's clothes may be chared and grinded to make coffee, its young shots are also edible raw or cooked, stinging nettles can be blanched on a fire or brewed into a tea in which has so many minerals such as iron(which could help counteract blood loss) as well as magnesium iron nickel copper etc etc. as you can see there is so much more the game can expand upon in the area of botany, i love the system currently in Neo scavenger but some times wish there were more options in tis field, i learnt all these things online about edible and medicinal plants, read an SAS survival guide and add plants demonstarted in that to the game and implement it, this would be amazing

The only option would be to make a botany-focused mod. I'm pretty sure some people would find it interesting. Just keep in mind that the game needs balance much more so than it needs realism, so it's really important to keep the botany, as a skill, on the same usefulness level as it is now, when adding anything else to it.
