Item Slot Info

Kaaven mentioned that several folks were interested in a breakdown of the slots and their IDs, so I've compiled some data tables to help illustrate this info.

First, the equipment slots. The fields below are:

  • ID - Slot ID
  • Name - Slot Name
  • Image (Off) - Image to display when non-highlighted
  • Image (On) - Image to display when highlighted (e.g. during item-dragging)
  • Z-Depth - Depth "into" the screen, for choosing which slot draws on top of others
  • Carried - Whether this slot counts against encumbrance or not
  • Mirrored - Whether to mirror the slot and item art or not
  • Layers - How many slot depths there are, and how many layers per slot-depth. Default is 1.

Next, the wound slots. These are still equipment slots, but they have some slight differences. The fields below are:

  • ID - Slot ID
  • Name - Slot Name
  • Blood Images - Images to display when wound is bleeding
  • Bruise Images - Images to display when wound is bruised
  • Infect Images - Images to display when wound is infected
  • Cut Images - Images to display when wound is cut
  • Pain Image - Image to display when wound is feeling pain
  • Mirrored - Whether to mirror the slot and item art or not

There's a bit more going on under the hood, but this should help get folks started. I'd like to make these moddable at some point, but there's a pretty big chunk of work to get that functional.

Awesome, btw, is it possible to mod in new wound types?

The Science&Sorcery Mod deal with nanobots. travel to the astral realm.

We sort of chatted about this offline already, but for anyone else who might be wondering: probably not.

The wound system only supports location-based blunt, cut, bleeding, infection, and pain stats. Any other wound types would have to be handled by conditions. You might be able to fake certain things with the conditions system. See the various diseases and drugs for examples of this.
