How does one find/craft shotgun parts?

i want to incorporate the vehcile repair system and clothes / bag repair system. but i've never played this mod so i have no clue what it uses.

can someone explain in detail what i would need to do if i wanted to repair a yukon bag?

if you wanted to repair the Yukon bag in this mod the closest thing i could think of would be a small backpack plus rags,small string, sewing kits, and tailoring skill.

For a vehicle it should depend on the vehicle but in most instances something like mechanic+small parts+multitool+specific vehicle

Chicko, why was support to the "canned bomb" dropped? i might be making something similiar, i haven't looked at the .xml so i don't know for sure but...basically if there are some pitfalls you ran into then i'll know that i shouldn't try the same thing.

The canned bomb was actually working but was too much of a hack and it felt like some kind of unfinished feature or something... I didn't really liked it.

It was actually a "ranged melee attack" coz it affected all ranged attacks in ways I can't remember. It also affected the weapon carried in the other hand so I had to attach a requirement, which was the carrying of a fire source to be able to use the attack. There were other things that needed to be done but I don't remember them right now. I might still have the file somewhere, though. It was a mess to mod. xD

Hi there, I believe the "injured foot" status belongs to this mod. Well thing is that it is happening too often and it won't go away unless I use a nanomedic, then if I wait for a turn hiding in the forest I get it again.

It is impossible to get rid of it, and I'm wearing all kinds of shoes, started with the rag shoes, Converse style, moved to running sneakers, boots etc...

Anyways thanks for the mod! as always great job! but I believe this issue with the injuries need some nerfing to it.

The injured foot status is actually a copy of the blisters one. The only difference is the cause. There's a 20% chance to get it if you step and also stay in rough terrain hexes, so staying on those barefoot will always be a bad idea.

There are more than one option to get rid of it but it won't matter if you are not careful and keep stepping on rough terrain. Changing shoes won't fix it but it will prevent the status to happen again.

Hello once again this part of the forum and mod of this lovely game, i'm having a slight dumdum moment with myself here, i'm holding onto about to break rifles and i kinda wish to make the Makeshift version of the rifle, but it requires RIFLE PARTS and not the rifles themself, do you have to find these said parts or can you take apart one of these other rifles? Cause i don't seem to be able to take apart a normal rifle, all combinations tested, tools added, required skills added, even a double rifle added, but only get the option to fix it, which is what i don't want.

Anyone care to explain how this works? I've been looking through all the pages in this forum for an anwser, so far it's very little.

Rifles count as rifle parts, even makeshift ones.

To make one you need:
-Either the Mechanic or the Ranged skills. Having both is only a requirement for the non makeshift version.
-Two rifles. Both can be Makeshift ones.
-A large branch.
-Pliers or a Multitool.
-Screwdriver or a Multitool.
-A Hacksaw.
-5 units of Lighter Fluid.
-4 uses of Duct Tape.

is this mod compatible with the mac version of the game

I wish I could answer this properly. I have no experience with macs but I read somewhere mods could be made compatible with macs or something like that.

I also have no experience with macs, but there should be no real difference between the mac and the pc version of the game, and therefore no reason why this (or any other *updated*) mod won't be compatible. We have other mac players that play with mods too, and they haven't reported any problems. The developer has also confirmed in a different thread that modding the game in a mac should be pretty much the same as modding it in a PC.

My phone internet is suddenly fast enough to upload a fix. I've been lurking the old pages in search of the issues with the latest update and the only one I found was:

-A recipe issue that prevents the ability to craft a dogman fur headdress.

I also wanted to reduce the sleep quality penalty applied by the craving of alcohol and cigarettes. Was there another issue that needs to be addressed?

Hmmm... maybe I could add a way to "craft" Apps for those with the hacking skill. The only thing I can think of, is for them to require the hacking skill, an unlocked laptop, and a lot of battery charges. The problem is Apps can be sold for a nice amount of cash in this mod so maybe hackers could adapt Apps to other devices instead. Like turning a Laptop GPS App into a Smarthphone GPS App.

Edit: I managed to develop a way to achieve the App modding thing. It was going to be done via crafting but then I dropped it coz hacking doesn't work like that. So instead, I allowed smartphone and iSlab Apps to be put inside laptops. If the player is a hacker, these Apps will appear as choosable options when the player uses the laptop. I already made Lamp Apps able to be modded from smartphones to iSlabs and vice versa. Not sure if it's going to be as easy with Apps that work in 3 devices, like the GPS, though.

I have a bit of a noobish question here, hope I'm not asking something that's been asked thousands of times before.

I found a Shredder shotgun long ago, and I've never been able to ''Upgrade'' it. How can I do that? I have the Mechanic skill and all the Tools from the toolbox except the Soldiering Iron, as well as plenty of Military Straps and Assorted Small Parts.

Let me check the recipes in the files. You need:

EDIT: Err, the Hidden Repair Recipe doesn't work.

I first tried them them with a normal Shredder, a Shortened Shredder an Multitool (open), 3 units of duck tape, Mechanics Skill and Hacksaw. No Craft button showed.

Then I replaced the Multitool for a Pliers and Screwdriver. Same result.

Imma go take a look at the files. Maybe there's something I missed somewhere. Thanks for reporting that one.

How do you use an Ammo Clip? Can it be used on the Outcast rifle?

Nope. Ammo mags/clips cannot be used in makeshift weapons. They only fit inside actual guns. Their only function is to hold more rounds inside a gun. The makeshift weapons are basically pipe guns.

Hey chiko, been playing your mod pretty hard last few days, having tons of fun with it. haven't quite figured this game out yet but some things I've noticed that might be broken:

-Brown feral dog doesn't drop anything when attempting to butcher corpse, and no fur when carving it.
-deer does not drop large pelt when carving. Only more small hide.
-knitnat doesnt repair backpacks back to 100% but does apply buff.
-can't craft rawhide patch.

Also I think some kind of system to stop randoms from looting your base/camps would be a nice addition. And it could be done without any or few additions to game. Example, fish hooks hung from trees, pitfall traps dug with the shovel. Traps using the poisonous berries. Shotgun door traps. Spring traps.

I'm aware most of these issues are incorporated into other mods, thought I'd bring it up. Good job bringing these all together. Makes the game much more difficult and tedious. Also I'm playing on version 1.12.

Are you using other mods? None of those issues happen to me and I have no idea what knitnat is.

I indeed was referring to your mod. Also a great mod. But also the version incorporated into the monster mod.

Sorry i have confused this thread for the monster mod. Most likely were the problems exist. Your mod is incorporated into that one and I was looking threw yours in a attempt to figure out the leather working.

Hey man, I think I've found a bug; can't make a Leather Patch out of a Rawhide Patch no matter what I try.

Got the Tanning Rack along with the Rawhide patch (which I got from a Rawhide Sheet from the ATN Enclave), and have all the ingredients mentioned here, 2 ash, 2 water (sterilized), Sharp Object (Tried Multitool, Cleaver, Shiv, Glass Shard and Scrap Metal Machete) and the Tannin Solution. Yet, I get no Craft Button. Do I also need the Trapping skill or something?

EDIT: Found the problem here. Apparently, either the in-game recipe or the one in the first post is wrong; it takes 4 Water and 4 Ash to craft instead of just 2. Still, now that I crafted it, the rawhide became Leather Patch (Tanning), which doesn't show up in the crafting screen. I am to assume that the tanning process isn't instant, then. How long does it take to be fully tanned?

The tanning leather will degrade until it changes into a usable form.

It takes about 3 days.

Also, I read ppl complaining about only being able to tan sheets. Tanning individual patches is too much of a waste of resources but what I could do is to let players tan a patchwork fur coat, which will spawn individual leather patches instead of a leather sheet.

What's the NSEoverride file? Is that the "0" file?
The game runs fine, but it says that it doesn't recognize what it is.

Yep. I renamed it coz every time the game updated, it would override the changes inside that file. If it's not recognizing that file then the problem could be from the getmods.php file. You need to replace that one with the one inside the mod files.

Hmm... software available for all 3 devices is being an issue, as I thought. I guess software modding will only be possible for iSlabs and smartphones for now.

Also, I just remembered ppl asked me to allow short shredder shotguns to fit inside shotgun holsters and long shredder shotguns to be able to be fit with a strap. Will write down that to the list of stuff for the next update.

Hmm... I haven't changed the greenwood bow recipe but I might have changed some parameters for the ingredients. I'll take a look.

I just noticed something weird while doing changes... The laptop encounter won't detect charges in the laptop so actions requiring power will show up as the option w/insufficient charges instead. It's only a visual bug since choosing the option will work, if there are enough charges.

Does this happen in the vanilla game too?

Hey, I have a question, who are the strangers in full blue suits? Will there be any negative repercussions if I kill/wound/threaten one of them?

They are a faction of looters I made specifically to clean the map of stuff lying around and prevent the mountains of loot that start to pile up in late vanilla game. They won't take stuff from campsites, even if the campsite is really visible so your stuff is safe from them.

It's really hard to get to one of them but killing one or more of them won't make much of a difference. They won't speak or attack unless they get a morale boost somehow. They usually just run away from everything but there are ways to attract them.

How do you repair the bicycle? I tried looking in the files but I don't really know what I'm looking at, lol. Mine broke and I have two wheels, parts and the frame; I tried crafting all of those plus a screwdriver together but to no avail.

Repairing a bicycle works in a similar fashion as repairing a cart. You have to dismantle it and then craft it again with parts in better condition.

The recipe is:

-Mechanic Skill
-Screwdriver
-Pliers
-Bicycle Frame
-Bicycle Parts
-2x Bicycle Wheels
-14x Small Mechanical Parts

i have a small question in regards to tweaking a small portion of your mod, how would i go about making it so that gun stores of both varieties spawn just a little bit more frequently, some games i can go a month without finding any and i would like to crank the chance up to just about a locked storage sheds probability or a tiny bit less. how would i go about doing this? the encounter seems so cool and i want to enjoy it but the last time i found one it was just full of black mold and i got very disappointed. thank you in advance for your help and for making such an awesome mod (love what you did to guns and bullets)

I'm sorry, but Jesus Christ I can't for the life of me find any sort of needles, and I don't even know the recipe to make bone needles. Can anyone help me out here?
