What are you supposed to use to boil water?

I've tried everything and I can't seem to boil anything in anything. Is the saucepan the only way to boil water or are there other methods? The game doesn't really indicate what would be considered 'fireproof' and I assume there has to be something to boil water in early game, right? I tried going through this blind but it's pretty much impossible. I end up throwing away really important things. :p

Also, I tried boiling it in a tin can. That didn't work cause the water didn't fit... Needless to say I was a little surprised. lol

The best way is the sauce pan + fire + water. That way you can boil up to 3 droplets at a time. The two other things you can boil the water in are tin cans and glass bottles. In both cases, you will be only able to boil a single drop at a time. The bottle is the worst, since it will break after one use.

Okay, a bottle will be fine for now. I just need something to get me through until I can find something better. Cause I tried a tin can but it was too small. Maybe I can find a bigger one.

It does not have to be big enough to fit the water inside - you can boil water in cans just fine, and they don't degrade when you do. You just cannot carry water in cans - cause they are always open.

to boil water go to the crafting screen and put a heat source (a small fire or a lit torch will do), the container (bottle, can or pan) and the water droplets into the crafting box. what is inside the container at the time doesn't matter.

imho the can is the better than the pan to carry around becaese of the weight and the space required. the pan is only really better at boiling rags (one drop of water per 3 rags). while the pan allows you to boil 3 droplets of water this also take 3x the time (0.6 moves instead of 0.2 for one droplet) so you just need to click a few more times. there's enough water sources around and you don't need that many clean rags.

p.s.: blue frog sashes double as durable, non-stackable clean bandages.

Oh right. Sorry, the can thing was my fault. My common sense didn't click in. lol
