.308 wont let me add ammo

I see the box where I would assume I put the ammo, but it wont go...what gives?Am I just doing it wrong?

Same for me. Used to work, but now it doesn't.  (I'm trying with a scoped, strapped version)

Same here, on a related note using full soup cans seems to be bugged atm, I can't open and eat them. The other food items seems to work fine.

Doh! Looks like my bad. The scoped, strapped, and scoped+strapped versions of the rifle are separate items from the regular rifle. I forgot to adjust the ammo so it fits into all four types of rifles, not just the regular one.I'll fix that, and update both the demo and beta with the fix. Thanks for finding it!For the soup, I'm not able to reproduce the bug when I test. Are you saying that the "Consume" cursor doesn't do anything when you click on a full soup can? (Or it just moves the can, rather than eating the contents?)If the can has non-consumable items in it (like a plastic bag), the "Use/"Consume" click will just move the item around, not use it. Let me know if that was the case.

Exactly, the can graphic is that of a full can, and it doesn't say empty, but when i click on it it just moves the can from my backpack to the ground or the other way around.I guess the can has something not consumable inside, but i tryed with two different cans (both fresh new from the ground) and neither worked. I guess they spawned with something non consumable from the start, or i was organizing my plastic bags before using the cans and one ended up right inside an empty can without me noticing (<---- very likely), just didn't knew that could happen.

Ok, today's new builds (both beta and demo) should have the ammo bug fixed. Sorry about [email protected] Regarding the can, if you see that behavior again, would you mind putting the can in one of your hand slots, and see if there is anything inside? If the item is soup, then we have a new bug. it's possible when you dropped an item (using take/drop cursor) the game found the first available slot inside an empty can, so it now looks full. Either way, let me know, and I'll fix it if it's broken!

Still running into this gun bug with the strapped and strapped and scoped varieties. Not sure about the scoped only, as I've run out of guns. Also it seems that modifying a rifle with ammo in deletes the ammo.

First day playing, love it.Agree with the intuitive simple concepts,One intuitive concept is not coming together for me however,Scavenged an area; discovered a .308 rifle, a sling, and a scope, but am unable to combine any of them in any combination.tried adding handful of springs and screws and things to the mixture, no good, floss was no better, but i didn't expect it to be.Is this a fail of mine, or of the lack of direction to complement the intuition based game play.If a component is missing, wouldn't a character notice. "something is missing" rather than blindly smashing a rifle and a scope together expecting them to stick on the third try.Still really enjoying this.

you have to have the multi-tool in the box also. However as of 3/13/12 the scoped strapped rifle still wont let me load ammo into it on the demo..

Hello everyone:Great game; I've been playing Aftermath! since the mid-80s and love the genre and this seems to be a great application of it.  A new player from my newest playing group sent me the link yesterday and I've been playing ever since.I'm having problems using the rifle myself.  The ammo goes in the slot, but everytime I try to use the rifle in combat, it comes up with "The .308 Rifle is Empty" or something similar.  Is there some additional step to load the rifle?  Or is this still bugged?  (And thanks for the info about the multi-tool; I've just found one scope so far so I didn't get to experiment much.)

So it turns out the ammo bug wasn't fixed in the demo build on the 9th. However, it *should* be fixed in both demo and beta as of last night's build (0.911d and 0.921b, respectively). Let me know if that ammo bug shows up again!The "rifle is empty" despite having ammo in it might be a case of using the wrong attack mode for the gun. E.g. you loaded FMJ rounds, but had the SP attack mode selected. Was that the case? If not, and the right ammo/mode were loaded/selected, sounds like a different bug!And yeah, multitool ftw! I (sort of randomly) guessed that rifle hardware needed screwdrivers and screws to setup, so rifle crafting needs both the upgrade part, a "small part" (i.e. screw), and a tool for tightening the screws.

Thanks for your replies (and hard work) Dan:  I'm playing the demo (unfortunately, no CC or cash to get involved in the Beta) and I'm not seeing a way to change modes for the rifle.  I see the mode toggle button on the bottom right and click through and get "punch" ".308 Rifle" and "Rifle butt" options.  There doesn't seem to be an option to switch ammo types.  (Also, needing to choose the ammo type when there's only one type of ammo loaded into the rifle seems an unnecessary complication.)

<br>

Turns out that was the problem:  I just didn't realise that the ammo mode was one of the options I must have cycled past.  Now I'm a fan of the slinged rifle... of course $50 to kill a dogman seems kinda steep (if one ignored the fact my character was unhurt).
