NEO Scavenger #1 on GOG!

Hey Folks!

I received an email today from Minister Max pointing out that NEO Scavenger was the #1 bestseller on GOG.com! I knew there were some fans interested in a GOG version, but I had no idea it was that many. Thanks to all who made this possible!

NEO Scavenger continues to perform well on other stores, too. There's always a drop-off in sales after launch day, but it's falling slower than expected. Even with the Steam Holiday Sale landing this morning, I think I'm still seeing more traffic than pre-launch by quite a bit. So things are still looking good!

The PR bonanza continued today, with me trying to keep pace with press requests. One thing which makes it difficult is that many requests come from email addresses which are hard to verify. Ideally, YouTubers would send a key request using an email address that is publicly linked to their YouTube channel. But if the channel has no email address listed, I need to find other ways to make sure the requester is who they claim to be. This tends to slow down the process a lot.

So if you're a YouTuber or LPer who is requesting a copy, please be sure to use an email address that matches your YouTube or other channel's contact info!

Other than that, I'm trying to cover as much of my message backlog as possible as I get ready for vacation. Tomorrow's my last day in the office until the new year, so I want to make sure no major issues are left before I go!

Have a good night, all!

In fact, NEO is so far curated in steam by some of my favourite curators, though my preferences are admittedly usually towards smaller and obscurer ones. But Extra Credits is definitely neither one of those things. ;)

Thanks for the eye candy, linibot! I hadn't seen the EC curator call-out. It really is a relief to see people enjoying the game. I think it takes a certain type of gamer to enjoy this style of game, but it seems that all the right people are discovering it!

@sub439, thanks! You as well!

Told ya GOG was the place where gamers who'd most dig NeoScavenger hang out! Many of the folks there grew up with "3 lives, no continues, no autosaves, game is designed to kill you fast and mercilessly"! :) GOG is where us old farts of gaming shop.

Re: "YouTubers and internet reviewers"... I must say, I'm a bit puzzled (and galled) that some random person with a YouTube channel (everyone and their Dogman thinks they're a qualified "game reviewer" these days) should expect a FREE copy of the game to review.

Buy it like the rest of us and support Dan, THEN write/video your review of the game! I can understand major sites like IGN or Joystick or even Zero Punctuation getting review copies, but internet "personalities" on Youtube who gain popularity by screaming into their mike and doing "let's plays" should just buy the damn game, IMO.

Glad to hear you are doing well on gog. I don't touch steam nowadays if I don't have to!

The slow increase of interest in the is clearly evident by increase in the sales. The history shows us that a number of games which had less sales during launch had out numbered their sales. I loved the game play, may be will get back soon I complete acheter black ops 3 series.
