[Request] Exterminate the Blue Rot - mini mod

It comes up often enough by now, that some players who play mostly sandbox keep consistently requesting a way to mitigate the Blue Rot problem. Either by making it disappear, or making it less deadly, or making it respond to nano treatment, or providing more varied healing options for it (instead of doing that through the encounter). I think it'd be useful if we could all point to a mini mod that provides some type of functionality that fixes it for them. In my (perfectly ignorant) head, this can't be all *that* difficult, right? XD Again, totally no clue here, but I can hope. ;)

Anyway, if someone were to offer such a mini mod, I'd gladly spread the word. :)

Thanks in advance!

I am in development of a mod, blue rot is on a list of things I have made semi less deadly, Its main goal was to make it not an instant kill, but I lasts a long time(100 days) for it's final stage and is crippling, causing rapid dehydration, immune suppression, etc. I am not sure it will stay in as it is, but if not i might just fragment it and make it standalone.

Hey thanks. :) I think a standalone is really what would be most useful, because it would hopefully be able to both merge with other mods and be useful for people who prefer to play the vanilla game, just with a tweek.

I just think we'd potentially make a certain batch of players pretty happy with such a mini mod. If you do find the time, or if someone else wants to tackle something of this type as well, it'd be neat, more mods are NEVER a bad thing. :)

I might just do that now then, my blue rot variant causes tiredness, hunger, thirst, immune suppression, all symptoms of the stages before and lasts 100 days, it still may kill you but I like the idea of tough, but survivable diseases, not "whoops, got to close so you died with no chance", many of my runs have ended with blue rot. To survive it, you need a lot of food, water, rest, and tea if possible, I didn't make a cure for it though, to stick to the lore.

Done: You can find the mod at http://bluebottlegames.com/main/node/4045

You rock, thank you. :) I'll test it in the weekend and will be spreading the word. :)

That said, anyone else still willing to add more variations of dealing with it, shouldn't drop what they're doing, the more the merrier. ;D

You can test it out, I couldnt remember part of the code(wrote it on earlier builds, but transferred it over) so if you notice any sudden drop of food, water, etc, then tell me, it is suppose to be about 1.5 times sustenance requirements, but it might be 2.5, the rest of it should have transferred over nicely.
