Poisoned 2 + no nano = certain death?

So I seem to remember reading that theoretically it's possible to recover from stage 2 of poisoning without nanobot treatment (kit or clinic). I've tried to test the theory quite a few times, but I've never survived it. This time again I threw everything I had at it: food, clean water, tea+bear root (repeated basically every time the notification went away, I was at ATN and had both money and a good stash), painkillers, rest and all the antibiotics I had (which only lasted me a day sadly). I didn't have a weakened immune system notification, diarrhea or vomiting at any point after the initial notice and the first round of self treatment. I died a few days later, I fell asleep and basically spent a whole day passed out - which was weird and I can't remember encountering it before (kinda fascinating to watch though).

So has anyone actually survived it? How many days of antibiotics did it take? Is it luck based or is it no use trying to stay alive if you don't have nano or X amount/days worth of antibiotics? Does ATN treatment have any chance of healing it? Any info welcome. :)

Btw, cool that ATN won't treat every scratch 10 times a day, but do they allow you a second treatment at all? If yes, after how many days? And if not, well, if you are dying at their doorstep, they sound like the sort of folks that would care. I'm wondering whether their doc should make an exception for folks that are clearly breathing their last. Just thinking out loud. ;)

As far as the medicine man goes, it's somewhere between 2-3 days from what I can tell. That's not scientifically measured, it could be a straight 24 hours AFAIK.

I have (on another run) waited more than 3 days to see if the option would resurface and the medicine man wasn't available. Are you sure about that timeframe? It's not a complaint per se, that one, I'd just like to know.

*headdesk*

You're right. My measurement was based on eating meals at the ATN, not medicine. I assumed it was the same thing.

Medicine is about a week before you can visit Joe again.

Cannibal Family Picnic

72 hours (3 days) unless you visit early, which then resets the count for another 72. Basically Joe just gives you an annoyance penalty if he thinks you're abusing his generosity. So, worst case you get impatient and visit right before the first period ends, you end up with a total of 6 days to wait.

If I understand it correctly, in game terms, there are 2 conditions with 72 hour timers. The first is applied after (either type of) treatment. The second applies on a revist if the first is still on your character. The timers run concurrently (they don't stack) and are not reapplied until the next visit after condition clears. At least, I don't *think* (but haven't confirmed) that visiting AGAIN during the 2nd period you reset the 2nd timer.

Thank you both, that's really useful to know. :)
