Allow existing members to buy as gift.

I think I have made this comment before, somewhere somehow. But anyway, here it is again. You have a good community here and you have a game that at early access has 98% upvotes on steam, so clearly we like it. Let us support you directly, instead of through middlemen like steam or desura. There really is no reason why an existing member shouldn't be able to gift the game directly from your website. At least make it possible around official release? I mean you lose nothing by doing it and frankly you're shooting yourself in the foot if you don't. ;)

This is a good idea, and I agree completely! I just haven't figured out a way to enable that yet.

The tricky part is that the user has to be logged-in here for the purchase site to unlock their account, and this is not the case if you're buying it as a gift for someone else. (I.e. the checkout process redirects back to here with an unlock command)

Maybe I can figure out a way, though!

I can offer zero practical help, but while I'm itching for a new update, my business side is saying, really, you managed to sneak modding in, how long would figuring this out take, and what's the time/benefit ratio? It is something that will be useful for future games as well. And it is less about making an extra 10 sales and more about keeping your community by your side. Allow us to throw some extra money your way now and again. ;) Anyway, preaching to the choir. :) My aim was just to remind you that it does happen, that I personally have wished for it on more than one occasion and that maybe you should consider bumping it a few places higher on that famous list of yours.

Another indie game I got into did it through 'gift codes' that users could purchase, then give the code to a friend who used it to activate their account. I was able to use that process to give the game to the friend that introduced me to it but couldn't afford to buy it himself. Now I'd like to get him this one for pretty much the same reasons I got him the other.
