Thanks for help. I asked the mod creator and they told me basically to do the same exept for the overwrite-file-ness. I got RarZilla (dat name tho) and then magic!

Thanks though!

Hey Guys lots of fun stuff to play with here Im having a problem installing the SampleMod and the NeoScavExtended (I want my fancyshopping bag!) so i have been able to get NS to load without error in both cases using these set ups

but in niether case can i get muh shopping bag :) what am I doing wrong?

ok for some reason it wont let me edit my post without engaging the spam filter and blocking me

the first example will allow the SampleMod to load the shopping bag but overrides the NSExtended mod.

ive been trying to install the extended mod with the cheat mod and i cant without something not working. can someone help please, thanks!!

this wasn't geared toward teaching How to merge, but you might gain something from it if you pay close attention to what happens when doing the overrides

Yeah even if it doesn't directly help it will probably still help in a way. Thanks!

I have been playing for a long time I played the demo the first day it came out and bought the game within days and have reccomended it to all my friends. But the reason I replyed to your post is because I have been trying to figure out how to put mods into neo scavenger for months now. i really dont get it when it gets into edit the mod files and samplemod files. I will explain more about my problem if asked.

We can definitely help with that, it actually sounds more complicated than it is. Provided you only want to play one mod at a time, here's a quick and dirty rundown:

1. Download the mod.
2. Unpack/unzip the file.
3. Find the game folder, i.e. the folder where NEO Scavenger is installed in your computer.
(For the Steam version: Go to your Library, find NEO Scavenger, right click, find Properties, go to the Local Files tab and click Browse Local Files.)
4. Copy the mod folders (from step 2) to the game folder (from step 3).
5. Copy and overwrite the "getmods.php" file into that same Game folder.
6. Start the game.

Most of the more complicated instructions have to do with playing with multiple mods, but one mod at a time should really be as simple as that. If this doesn't help, let us know which of the above steps you're having issues with. There's also a bunch of links with more/different explanations and resources about it in the FAQ (scroll down to the Modding bit).

Hi, I'm new to the game, and to modding.. Never done so in my life, and sorry to say, but I don't understand the help provided in the SampleMod Menu and with trials from previous readings... I think I've got it down, but I don't know for certain, and I'd like to ask for help with the Science&Sorcery Mod, as an extra test..

i've never looked at that mod but maybe this will help you anyway:

OverHaul Mod

i need some help the cheater mod works just fine but i can't get neo extended to work can you please help me since your the expert

First, holy damn... Did you ever try shortening that!? Just take this, it'll make changing stuff easier.

There, much better. Try flip flopping NSE and BBC. This is what I had to do with my mod when used with M(m)MoD. (this is due to how the game references items and such... or something)

So I did some work on this, and this is as far as I can get the two to work together. I did get a successful load before this, but BBC didn't load.

ok but i can't see your image

I can. With the way BBCode works, everyone should be able to see it. It's linked to the image address... That's odd, probably needs looking into.

Can't see the image either. So probably it's a broken link?

ok well it still didn't work

Does this work?

IMAGE(<br /><br />

That's odd. The first one works fine for me, but this one is broken. I even tried putting this one in a shared album when it didn't work the first time. All in all, I don't think this is a user error. I've been using this way of posting images for a while now. It may have something to do server-side (if everything is being copied over now, that may be the cause. Although, I don't think that's happening just yet.).
What an odd thing to occur...

Odd indeed, if I use the BBCode [img]"url of the image"[/img] it works fine, at least in preview...
If it is different to using the above way, what exactly is your way of posting images?

I upload the image, click on it (so that it goes to its own page), then right click. I find "copy image address", and use that link. Dan explained this to me a while back, so it should work this way. It's even the way I posted images for my image-story a little while ago.
Also, all the images showed up when I hit preview- aside from the last one, which I didn't check first.

Do you use Drive? Because the problem there is, they dont give you a link to the image sometimes but rather a preview... But you can check that:
When you a) click on the image or b) right click on the image and click "copy image adress" and insert it somewhere (e.g. url bar) or c) click "open image in new tab": Does it say *.jpg or *.png (or any other image file ending) in the url bar?

What I don't get is that you seemed to get it to work fine before... (not doubting that btw! I'm just intrigued what the problem could be). And preview works fine as well, so why doesn't it show up properly?

Well, as a workaround/fix you could just post the link in plain text.
Oh, and: Do you just copy-paste the image adress into the spoiler? cause you could try using the above mentioned method.

Yeah, I use google photos. Although, this is the first time this has ever happened. I get what you mean by .jpg and .png, but it does neither... In fact, it's never done that.
Also, if you want proof that this works, go here:
If that doesn't work, somehow, than I don't know what to say. All of these have worked accept the previous picture.
This is what happens when you copy/paste a regular link to a picture:

I'm stupid... I had spaces in the darn things! There aren't supposed to be spaces...

Ok, I think it's no use discussing this further. No idea what's happening here. My guess still is, there is something wrong with the upload, so that for you everything is fine, but other (internet-)users don't see the image, just a replacer (it's just a transparent image with a "stop sign"-like image in the middle of it).

Just try the above mentioned workaround or leave it for this time, just try the same old method the next time you need to show an image and we'll see if it works that time... 'cause I think normally it should work fine.

EDIT: One more thing, recheck your links, I think you switched up the correct place for the url. Happened with the link in your stories thread as well... If I click on it it goes back to the thread, have to copy-paste it to get to the correct url.

Yeah, that's what usually happens. If you click on a link in any thread it send you right back to the thread. This happens with almost all links (not just mine). Also, what? You got some random image with a stop sign in it :? That's the first time I've ever even heard of a place holder image. I still think that this is more of a server-end thing, though. Dan did say that stuff would be getting copied over, but I don't really know when that's supposed to happen...
You should try uploading an image to the site, if I see the same results, we have an answer.

Rar! Rar rar rar! Thanks for reading :)

Well, I was unclear, I just see the same background as the forum (I'm pretty sure its actually transparency in the image) and the "stop-sign"-like thing in the middle. No placeholder, just transparency. (Not like you probably know from freshly-bought photo-frames, if that's what you meant). I would show you, but that would mean to just post the url you provided, which probably lets you see the actual image. :D anyway, here it is, just back at you:

Spoiler: Highlight to view

Maybe you'll see it here with this genuinely fashionable leg of me, property of ME (imagine a silly dumb-ish sound), if the error is consistent from user to user (but my guess is actually that its only with your uploads):

Spoiler: Highlight to view
oh, and it has actually to be "img" and not "image", did get that wrong in the first preview...
heres the code:

as for the link

Spoiler: Highlight to view
you just have to put the url directly behind the "url" INSIDE the tag (this one -> []), behind an equals sign, like this:

[url=]This is the link title.[/url]
with the actual link looking like this:
This is the link title.

and for the node tag:
[node=1]The first node ever on Blue Bottle Games - the "About" node.[/node]
looking actually like this:
The first node ever on Blue Bottle Games - the "About" node.

But when you are composing your post, there's a link in the lower right titled "More information about text formats", there's actually everything neatly listed in a table...
But maybe you knew that? Actually, I tend to forget it myself, sometimes.

And so sorry for bloating up this thread, didn't think it would take so long, should've moved to a seperate designated thread a few posts ago. :(

Yeah, this should have its own thread.
As for what you said about it being about my own posts... You may be right, although the way you write your own image links is the exact same way I do. This is something that perhaps we should get outside opinion on, as it seems to be an isolated case.
