The Dreaded Sepsis.

I'm in a predicament, I was fighting a DMC Guard (For his shotgun of course.) and I think my misdoings have caught up to me. Before I murdered him with my bare fists, he manage to plug a round of buckshot into my lower stomach, I think he may have ruptured my intestines, I dressed the wounds and tried everything at the medical clinic, and taken a bunch of antibiotics, but I keep sub-cumming to sepsis. As I wait here with painkillers in one hand and antibiotics in the other, the only thing I can do is pray that I come out alive. My question is...

What is the mortality rate for Sepsis? Can it be cured?

It's definitely survivable with some work. Keep at those antibiotics and tannin tea if you have Botany. More than that though you'll have to really watch your hunger, water, and comfort levels, sepsis can really hammer on all of them.

Do your best to really combat it from the start, keep everything you can topped off, try to not let infections ever progress to stages 2 or 3 and they won't be a threat to your life. If they do progress though keep it up they're still survivable by the same process.

If push comes to shove and you suspect it's winning or it's just something you want to keep from progressing to higher stages at all costs (looking at you blue rot) then nanorobot treatments will generally trump all infections, so keep those in mind if you have enough to afford them.

That's what I was afraid of, I took 2 Nanobot treatments and downed prescription antibiotics, but my immune system continued to deteriorate by the turn, I haven't tried Tannin Tea though, (Have Botany, great skill.) Also, quick question, I met a guy from the Cult of the Blue Frog, any intel on them? I read that they can carry Blue Rot so I gunned him down with a 1911 instead of melee.

The Cult of the Blue Frog thing is during a random encounter (those events where you have to choose if you want to help or not). Currently there are two encounters you can contract blue rot from, one a lot more obvious than the other, there are no random people you will bump into on the world map with it or any other disease.

not true iv run into blue frog cult members like walking around like anyone other npc but its super rare btw iv been getting gastroenteritis iv done whats he has nano bots and antibiotics and nothing helps no matter what i do i die when im about to die i closeout the game and it lets me start from last save with out deleting it

I didn't mean that you can't run into cult members walking around the map, just that you can't catch blue rot (or any other disease) from people walking around on the map. The only way to catch blue rot is from two special random encounters, and it's avoidable in both cases.

Sounds like a really nasty case of gastroenteritis! Are you dying from the gastroenteritis itself, or from the dehydration/starvation it's causing? Either way sounds like it's time for a fresh new game! NEO is unforgiving by design, death is meant to be always looming around the corner, and the struggle to avoid it is largely the appeal of the game.

Dear god it worked, the Tannin Tea, my last resort, boosted my immune system better than Prescription antibiotics AND the Nanobot kit. You saved my Scavengers life to hunt BadMuthas and Dogmen another day. Thank you!

To be fair, gastroenteritis isn't supposed to be fatal most of the time, unless completely neglected. It seems that you are either suffering from something else but that, or your character is in really bad shape. Healthy character, catching a gastroenteritis should suffer form a mild setback rather than real danger.

Hmm, for some reason the only times that I got Sepsis were when I tried to bandage my wounds?

If I left it untreated and go directly rest/heal I never get it.

I can understand how a dirtied bandage can infect a wound, but shouldn't it still be better than a continously exposed, open wound?

Try using (Sterilized) Water droplets on the wounds, I found that can actually be done.

nope died

Try Tannin Tea in a camp with a tarp shelter and take a Nanobot kit, keep taking Tea as it wears off each turn.

I put a butt-load of information about Sepsis on the wiki straight from the game code. ^-^

Oh really? I'm off to check it! Thanks friend!
