User made challenges

I have a pretty develped character currently, and I think I am pretty good at the game. I was wondering does anyone have any challenges for me as an existing character?

Getting better at surviving everydayAlso please help with the NEO Scavenger wiki here

Explore around the entire map, so that when you go to the full screen map, there is no black squares.One-Shot only, you are only allowed to use a rifle on an enemy once, then you must use melee, or run.

Some really difficult ones arranged by difficulty.1. Kill everything you see2. Only carry what can fit in a single plastic bag3. No guns4. No boiling water5. No fire6. Eat every edible item7. No saving8. All of the above!

The Only carry what can fit in a single plastic bag seems like the only challenge there... unless you mean by no boiling water is, rather than commit suicide by regularly drinking unknown water, only drink pure water you find or loot. Kill everything you see is already my modus operandi... no guns isn't a challenge if you don't also disallow strong/melee... no fire is the same as no boiling water... I already eat every edible item (unless you mean "every potentially edible item" in which case it's suicide and not a challenge - see no boiling water above) and I play the demo where there is no saving to begin with.Unless you disallow the use of the hand slots and shoulder slot with the plastic bag, again, it's not really much of a challenge... just have to trim the fat: no nanorobot medical kit, a half dozen string and screws for use, a lighter and a multitool. Rifle once found, and a crowbar once found... lockpicks would be okay but you'd only have one left-over slot in the plastic bag afterwards. (And you'd have to spend a lot of time scavenging forests because you would only get to eat what you found when you found it.) -- Kill everything you see combined with single plastic bag and no guns could be interesting; you'd be certain to occasionally be hurt and you wouldn't be able to carry around a medical kit.
I'm sorry, that sounded so snarky; it wasn't meant to be. It's just that the challenge of playing Neoscavenger is already pretty decent, and I can't really imagine a different challenge other than maybe "most expensive backpack" -- I got up to $3600 or so recently but I bet the real pros and the real lucky have found more nanorobotic medical kits than me...
I didn't take it as snarky at all. I haven't been playing for very long and your dissection seems correct. I haven't played with tough or melee yet, I've been taking feeble for the extra slot. Even with feeble I can carry two full backpacks while only getting to the mid yellow on encumbrance. I tend to be a pack rat in games so the one plastic bag challenge would be very difficult for me, but the kill everything you see one would be impossible. With today's modification of saving to make this more roguelike the no saving thing should be kicked out as well.

Only scavenge the destroyed buildings

That's an interesting challenge. What about forests? Plains? Where are you going to get your food from? Rifles only seem to appear in cabins in the woods... Definitely a powerful challenge.
I've seen food items on the ground without having scavenge... :)

Good point. I think this would be one of the hardest challenges that might not necessarily be suicide.
I think it could be especially fun once combat and healing is improved. You know you're going to trigger a lot of enemies and you can pick up their gear without scavenging. It might be doable now but the limited healing about would make it even tougher.

Add in the added danger of searching only the worst condition buildings and you're sure to be almost constantly wounded and in danger of death.
I'm trying out the challenge this morning and it definitely spices things up. I feel strongly connected to my guy and am trying everything i can think of to keep him alive, and it can become touch and go at anytime. So far it's really struck the blend of doable, but damn difficult. I've already got some ideas on how to change my build next time to make it more achievable. I will say clothes are far more an issue than i anticipated and using the market seems to be key to survival.

That's an awesome and really difficult challenge. How are you staying away from looters/raiders/dogmen after you are wounded?

I took hiding to try to help with that. So far so good :)

And I actually get mad now when I check a rubble square and there isn't a destroyed building!

Are you still continuing this challenge? How has it turned out?
I've gotten into the flow of it and have pretty much figured out how to get through. I've now got a guy with 3 backpacks, multiple lighters, a bunch of water, fully clothed etc. I'm now to the point where I have to cover enough ground to find food and water. Balanced by the safety net of needing to be able to make it back to the market to buy food and water in case I can't forage enough. So I can survive for a long-time, although maybe not indefinitely, and i have limited range. Not sure how to get around those things though without opening up the scavenging to forests and fields. If I did that I think it would remove a lot of the challenge though.I have noticed that after a couple days there are a TON of places to scavenge near the glow. It looks like once you scavenge a spot, they keep adding even if you don't actually enter any of spots (ie following the rule about not scavenging anything other than destroyed buildings). Every square around the glow has scavenging available and most of them have 10-15 tiles to scavenge. Kinda odd and probably should report it on the bugs when I get a chance. :)

Challenge: ANGERMCFISTYKNUCKLES. No Bad Traits. Toughness, Melee, Strength, and Athletic. You must get to the Glow within 30 turns.

Killed one hex away from the glow by a dogman... but had been crippled for about half the trip. Easily within the time limit. Edit: Attempt 2 complete.

It seems to me that the easiest challenge to set up that would be "fair" would be to simply remove some or all of the "basic human" traits.
