Upgrading to Yukon

Not sure if this is the most appropriate subforum please move if so.

I bought the game on desura, and I'd like - if possible, to upgrade to the yukon version. is there a way to do this, or would I simply have to purchase a second key at the Yukon price-point?

Hey Zakastra,

Thanks for your purchase! I think we could figure out a way to get you upgraded for just the price difference.

Are you able to connect your Desura account to this account? If so, I can email you a coupon code for $10 off the Yukon edition, and a link you can use to upgrade.

Let me know if that's how you'd like to proceed, and I'll generate the code!

Thanks for the swift response.

I have connected my Desura account and if you could send me a coupon and link that would be wonderful.

Email should be on its way. Let me know if you run into any issues!

Thanks! all sorted and upgraded now :)

Hey Dan, in the future I'll support you as well if I like what you're doing; and will upgrade as well. As long as it doesn't turn to DLC, I wouldn't mind at all supporting you. Love the game, and the learning curve is steep even though I got it to a science nowadays. :) Will definitely recommend to others.

Thanks odinsreaver! I'll try to keep steering NEO Scavenger down the right course!

Hullo.

I bought this game on steam and would LOVE to upgrade to the Yukon edition to support you guys. it's rare to see such a balanced and well executed survival game <3

Hey Kuraden,

Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad that you're enjoying NEO Scavenger so much!

I'll PM you on this site, and we can figure something out.

What's this "Yukon Edition"?
All I know is that you start with a Jar of Eyeballs, and that wearing it draws Yezinka towards you.

Burp

Yukon is basically kind of 'supporters appreciation option' - when you buy Neo Scavenger from, say, this website, it's just a choice provided for those with a few more bucks who are willing to financially support Blue Bottle Games beyond regular game purchase. Screaming eyes is kind of bonus thrown in, as a gesture of thanks and appreciation from Dan.

Yeah, the game is pretty much the same as the non-Yukon version, except for what you describe. The only other difference is that Yukon customers receive a signed NEO Scavenger postcard from me as a "thank you."

As Scavenger says, it's primarily a way for players to support the game a bit more than the lower tier options.

Is the Yukon edition closed off? I've thoroughly enjoyed the game and would have liked to lend my support as well.

Yes, it is now gone. It was a limited offer, one made for supporting of the game while in beta stage.

it is a shame this is no longer available, considering now more people are finding the game and likely wanting a "special edition", but the postcard was extra work for Dan, I know, and the other main reason for this edition was giving beta testers more "feature votes" (mine were all wasted on "change player's name/gender"... *sob*).

I'm honored to be a Yukon supporter, though, just because I love the game so much and really appreciate all the work Dan put in and how much he listened to us testers.

For those who missed out, I will say you're not really missing much; the jar is just a "fun" little item and not a big deal. I mainly upgraded to Yukon just to thank Dan after he went above and beyond to add modding support that I (and others) were constantly begging for!

I certainly wouldn't be upset if the jar was somehow offered to other players (DLC, special edition, etc.) in the future, though.

I'd very much like to also acquire the yukon edition. I'm not bothered about the postcard - as while that'd be a lovely sentiment most of what I care about is the game itself.

As this is a single player game, is there really no chance you'd yukon it up at some point?

I don't think I'll be making the Yukon edition available again, even without the postcard. I may be dumb for turning away more money, but part of me likes that these early supporters have something exclusive. A reward for their generous support when the game was a snotty, stinky infant :)

I think that if I were to add something, I'd probably add something new instead. Maybe of the same nature, but novel enough that all players could experience something new. However, that's pretty low on my list given the post-release bug-fixing, modding support, and other tasks.
