Skinning people, and downsided insanity. Hotels, too.

What? I like to play the local neighborhood psychopath! It'll be fun to have a "Insane" trait as a downside. You can skin humans, wear it, and scare off raiders or Melonheads. However, it will attract things like Dogmen more than you normally would without the skin jacket. Also, Fedor: You should add a hotel to the DMC. Just a heads up.

***DISCLAIMER***

It was all Rafe's idea. He likes skinning people. I'm only the slicer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm your friendly neighborhood nutcase. My spear be pointy, my stew be odd. Ask the trader guy near the DMC, I sell him meat on a regular basis.

I did, actually. I talked in the chat about how fun would be playing a maniac that likes to wear people's skins as capes and run towards npc laughing histerically to scare them off (or to get shot).

Yes, I'm fun like that :P

I am fine with complete, murderous insanity.. only if such characters are being shot almost-on-sight when entering DMC and the sprawl around it, as well as any other settlement (like Zom Zom) where the order is established, due to their psychosis being uncontrollable and easily noticeable. If people want to play deranged psychopaths, fine, but I want proper consequences of such - even if they ramp difficulty to downright insane (fitting, wouldn't it be?).

Otherwise, I am not too fond of the idea. Too much is too much and making Postal out of the game by adding more and more needless macabre and going further from the themes of survival and guy from our times finding his place in the new, dangerous and mysterious world is not a direction I'd like the story and gameplay to progress in.

Also, raw human skin would be horrible material for any piece of clothing, tanned one wouldn't be easily distinguishable as such thus making hardly much of a difference for anyone finding some clothing made out of it, at least without a really good checking.

Scavenger, i understand that human skin would~ be a horrible piece of clothing but you are forgetting that the PC would be insane and would love to wear a persons skin.

If you love a flower, do not pick it up. For if you do, it will die and cease to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is about appreciation, not possesion.

I didn't mean that unprocessed human skin would be bad for clothing as in 'low protection and durability'. I meant it as in 'you will make longer-lasting clothes by sewing together pages of old newspaper'. You won't be able to travel with such, it'll start falling apart after doze of scrapes and sudden movements. Now, processed skin may be a different matter, but processed human skin won't look - at least at the first glance - much different than if it'd be animal one, making the whole idea of it being practical and scary for the enemies bad.

So, no, I don't relly forget anything. Just play claim it wouldn't work.

Okay i agree with that.

Bisciutism, i think you are awesome! :D I would love this sorta thing. Being able to choose your alignment is a very key thing in games like this. Also, im just a crazy SOB when it comes to RPs so Chaotic Evil all the way! :D

+1 for skinning people.

This thread made me laugh. I think it would be really fun to have this in the game. Like an addition that people could play without being so serious. If you intended on this being a really serious thing in the game, as in insanity to survive...I can respect that. Maybe. Otherwise it would be pretty funny.
