You know with the game as it is AND also just for any game in general I think an Auto-Save feature would be a godsend, especially considering that you can't plan for every issue that might pop up. Say I'm really into the game and really far but I haven't been saving manually because of my full immersion into the game itself. Suddenly my power goes out and all my progress is gone. Or more accurately, some kind of conflict happens within the game and poof, the game crashes. All the time I've spent is then wasted.
Perhaps you could do something about that, say after X number of turns make an auto save. I know that my favorite roguelike already does something like this, Dungeons of Dredmor. Now granted there is more for avoiding people getting out of working around the difficulty but it's saved me before when they were still trying to get Dredmor steady.
I think NEOScavenger would benefit from an autosave feature.
