Tea (leaves, lumps, or instant), coffee, cocoa mix.  Obvious recipes include campfire + cooking pot + water + beverage mix = beverage + cooking pot + ash (hot beverage provides warmth, purified hydration, a few calories in the case of hot cocoa plus caffeine (more for coffee, less for tea or cocoa)).  That brings to mind Sugar... sugar added to the beverage recipes above would provide "Sweetened Hot Beverage" that added some more calories, a sugar rush/crash.  Plus:  Cookfire + Sugar + raw meat = Sugar Cured Bacon style preserved meat (no ash: the ash being used up in preserving the meat as well).  (MMMMM Squirrel Ham!)

Yeah, there are definitely some good ideas here. I like warm beverages, fishing and duc-tape particularly. What post apocalyptic setting is complete without duc-tape?More plants growing as salvageable items would be great - nettles, various herbs, more potentially poisonous fungi, tree bark, vegetables, fruit etc. These could all be combined to make various food recipes which would be far more nourishing or hydrating than eating items individually.

oh, I like the botany boast... more plants and more effects from plants would be nice.  Some sort of natural pep plant to chew on for a "well rested" boast would be nice (maybe even the ability to make it into a hot beverage ;-)).

There was a black out at work today so to make it look like I was doing some thing I grabbed a note pad and let my brain fall out.And this is what it made ...... YES THIS IS A LONG POST :) :P Police station :- You could find pistol and pistol ammo, utility belt (for tools and small stuff) riot gear ( would have good armour but have lots of down sides e.g. heavy, slow moving, can not wear in trading area can not repair low starting condition not wearable if you are feeble) and late of all coffee and donuts ( well they where cops :P ) Mobile home fort (trading outpost?):- A group of people push the empty mobile homes in to a ring wall and live in side. It could be a trading spot but add the chance of them attacking you as they are drunk or mad from inbreeding. On the buy list you could have home made stuff like weapons and woodland tools. They could have some other common stuff but be of all low grade (nothing over 40%). They would always have to have moonshine. Fuel station :- A place to get petrol, oil, tools and food. Make it so there is a very low chance to find any thing and high to very high risk but when you do it’s a big stash. Supermarket/bottle shop/Pharmacy :- They would be like the fuel station as most of the time you will find nothing and have a very high risk of getting spotted. But make that 3% chance that you hit it big. You could just change the name of one of the builds you have in game and add the lines “you find a supermarket or what’s left of it”. Shopping Center :- This could be another way to cover shops (think wall mart) like above but all in one. It would also be a good place to start to add new items. If some one can think of a funny ripe off name that would be cool. New people :- City looters are people from inside the DMC that are trying to make it big by looting. They could trade with you or if you are hurt or sick attack you for your loot. Then you can have city hunters bored guys with guns go out of the city in to the wild to shoot at every thing that moves. They would have good loot but be very danger est. City guard patrol to help keep the trash (human and other) away from the city walls. Would only be found with in one blocks of the city. Maybe have it so if you meet then they say move along and if you attack them you die. A set up I can think of is raider spots you, you run past city patrol, patrol kills raider with a risk that the patrol will kill you too. New animals :- Rats for in the cities for food with a chance of getting sick from catching them. Birds could be in the forests and some times in the city. Catch for food or make a cage from them and sell them at the city. You would also have bird eggs as a new food. Goats out of all of the farm animals I think they would do well in the wild (they do well in the bush in Australia). Good for food skins and maybe as a pack animal. 2x goats + shopping trolley + 6x sticks + 10 rags = small wagon. New Items :- Here are some new items I feel should or could be in this game.Found in houses :- knifes and forks to be added to things like spears arrows, broken chair leg for a same as stick for fire and better than stick as club, baseball bat, vacuum clearer use motor as part of powered bike and wrist watch so you can know the time of day.Found in Shopping centers :-  Sleeping bag use as big bag or to keep warm when sleeping, Jewellery hard to find and can only be sold to city looters for good money. Pushbikes ( that pink one in the back at NO one would buy) for more moment. Kids toys they are of no use but you can sell. First aid kits and maybe pain killers. Alcohol could be used or sold. Bed sheets, plates may be useless or could be a poor weapon (It took me 20 plates but I bashed that looter to death :P), Electric stove lighter (no need for fuel for it). garden hose, batteries  Well that's all my boss came over to what I was doing so had to go back to the real world :(

"It took me 20 plates but I bashed that looter to death" - Why do I see "Sean of the Dead" launching vinyl records at zombies when I hear this?  (Ooo, zombies as an encounter... touch fight but not very skilled and rather slow... movement of one, but excellent tracking skill?)

Yes I was thinking of just that when I typed it. Throw smash arrrrrr THAT was fine bone china fool o_0 :P :).I have a new one to run past everyone.  SOFT TOY CAPE. Yes it's so awesome it needs caps :P :)You add lots of soft toys like a teddy bear to the game then you get crafting recipe of 50x soft toys + 30x string + multitool =  SOFT TOY CAPE This is the way it could save you. You are spotted by a raider BUT the raider dies from laughing at your soft toy cape then you loot is dead body.Feel free to to have fun with this post. :)

Chicken Ablative Armour:  In some early roleplaying games, small animals had a hit point or two, and the way the system worked was that damage could be soaked up by other characters or monsters or etc. and only what was left over would be applied to the character, so many players developed the idea of wearing a bunch of chickens around their bodies... hence "Chicken Ablative Armour". (Edit: I suppose for this game, it would be "Squirrel Ablative Armour"... could come in two types; American Grey and European Red.)

3 & 5 gallon jugs that can hold more water.  Recognizing the size and weight, make the 5 gallon jug only fit on a vehicleSewing kit + ability to repair clothing, backpacks etc

Now that sleeping bags have been added I was trying to see if it was useable as a big bag for loot. I was thinking it would be about 10x20 in side so you could load in those rifles and crowbars. I found out that is not the case at the moment. I would be great if you could use them as big bags for all the long things you find. The down side would have to be that it takes up both the backpack and one hand slots. It would also have to wear out faster as sleeping bags where not made to do this. The other one I was playing with was the new tarps. It could work the same way but make it not wear out as fast and slow your movement down more. One last one is in the IT tower do you think it would be common to find the big blue water bottles they use in the chilled water stations. They look a lot like a bigger version of the clear water bottles that are in the game. This way you would bring the big water bottles back to your camp, MMMM if we are looking at that then you could add vending machines. Most machines would be empty but you some times get lucky and find a full one behind a locked door.

I definitely like idea of a bag capable of carrying several larger tools/weapons. Looking at the size of the rifle and crowbar, I thought that about 20 x 10 would be a good size, but then realized that its the same as two backpacks. So in order to balance the extra capacity, I'd like to suggest my idea:"Old Tool Bag"  -  A worn tool bag, able to carry on your back or in one hand, however is full of holes and so can only carry large items.I think this would prove useful (unless you're lucky enough to find a shopping trolley) as larger tools and weapons are added. I'm hoping for a shovel, fishing rod, fishing net etc. While i'm wishing, thought I'd say that as someone had already suggested a tool belt would be great for smaller tools (e.g. multi-tool, wrench).I'd love a feature that automatically replaced such tools after crafting as i'm always losing lighters and pans after boiling water as I forget to pick them back up.Sorry to deviate a little, 1st post, got carried away :)

I like the idea, but I'm thinking along the lines of a rifle case / gym bag / rolled up and tied tarp.It would have less overall space than a backpack, but would be long enough to store crowbars, rifles, etc.  It could store normal items as well.  I'm thinking just large enough to store two rifles plus a bit of ammo OR crowbar plus rifle plus a bit of ammo.Edit: Just reread your post.  Anything that goes towards putting items back where they came from when using recipes is very welcomed.  Toolbelt or not, I had to venture back four turns in my last game to find a pot to piss in boil water in.  I always keep two lighters on me in case I forget one, but doubling up on anything larger is too much to carry.Alternatively I could just learn to pay attention.

Well this is a bit sad that I didn't think of this before now. You need to add doors as items in the game. We find lots of locked doors then how hard would it be to (after opening it) take the door off it's hings and you that to put backpacks and other large items on it and drag it along behind you. It would slow you down a lot and wear you out faster. It could go as a craft able add on for camps. House with a good roof but no door bring your own. camp in the forest door + 2 sticks = lean to (just do NOT kick the sticks when sleeping). This one may or may not be a good idea but I was thinking of having a way to crafting a lockpicking gun (auto lockpick). You would start with the basic lockpicks and lockpicking skill but I'm stuck on what you could use to up grade it to the lockpicking gun. This one is not a new item but a change to one. On my HTC smartphone I have an app to turn the camera flash in to a torch. It's only good for about 2 meters but any light is better then none. Is there a way to make the Islab do the same thing.
