Why no decks/floors/stories?

Hello there,

first of, I never played NEO Scavenger, not my type of game, a good friend did and he loved it.

Ostranauts looks like one of the most promising games I have seen in years. I have been looking around for something like this for years.
I really enjoy your hard sci-fi approach. As a big fan of tailsitter ships like in the Expanse novels for example, I would like to know if it would be possible to introduce decks connected via stairs and elevators? For me it's currently the only flaw in an otherwise amazing game concept.

Thanks for the encouragement! And I'm glad to hear you enjoy the hard sci-fi elements I'm trying to add.

Multi-floor ships are something I'd love to do, but I'm not sure that will be possible. Some of the systems might gracefully extend into multi-floors (e.g. pathfinding, air flow), but others might turn into a real headache (visibility, lighting).

I have also yet to determine whether there are going to be any performance issues with larger ships. And allowing multi-floors might exacerbate that.

I won't say it's impossible, or that it'll never happen. But I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, either :)
