Fan Art! Website Fixes, and Space Prototype Setting

Hey Folks! More work updating the website today. And some setting development for the space prototype.
First of all, we have more NEO Scavenger Fan Art! I uploaded a whack of new arts today, and there's something there for everyone. Dogmen, rag-tag scavengers, comedy, tragedy, and the bizarre.
I also continued finding and fixing bugs on the site, including restoring direct purchases, missing images, and logging bugs for more complex stuff it'd take me too long to figure out.
Finally, I spent some more time working with Michael on Space Prototype setting and background. We're working on some products, corporations, and factions to use as basic building blocks for the setting. I know, I know, I just keep teasing this stuff. But there has to be a critical mass worth revealing before I draw the curtain back :)
Soon!
Comments
- According to Firefox the account password is transmitted without encryption (still). And why is there no "https" in the address field?
- There's no preview for forum posts, only for news posts.
- BBCode stuff still has to be done manually.
- There isn't even an auto-quote feature, let alone multi-quote.
- The old blue background looked better, the new color gradient leads to ugly vertical stripes and the used colors cause depressions.
Sorry for the negativity, there are probably some useful improvements under the hood, but user experience hasn't improved for me at all.
Oh, and you forgot to add "™" after "soon" ;-)
Edit: And there aren't even proper smileys :'-(

Hey Malacodor,
There'll definitely be some growing pains as we settle into the new server/CMS. So expect some things to evolve over time. (And slower/faster depending on available budget.)
To some of your specific points:
Indeed a lot of the improvements are under the hood, as you say. We did get a new design, but one of the main reasons for the overhaul was to get this site onto a new host with fewer quirks (e.g. 401 errors, failed transactional emails) and where someone else could manage it. (I can basically just file bugs now, and pay someone to handle it, freeing me up to do more game dev.)
It isn't perfect, for sure. But I think it's a step forward!

Exactly.
I mean the background. It's literally 50 shades of grey. Maximize the browser window and use a resolution of at least 1920 * 1080. The gradient stripes aren't visible in small windows.
Well, I hoped for something like highlight text, click B-button and [b][/b] is applied automatically.
Yes, "emoji" is the term young people use these days (I feel old). All forums in the world except two have these. And one of them only because they were disabled after I used all of them at once.
