Thread for Achievement Suggestions for Impending Mobile Version
So I got to thinking about some of the achievements for the upcoming mobile version, since Dan confirmed they'll be added. A game like NEO Scavenger, with so many minute and secret playstyles and micro-branches, seems like it would be rife with achievements. I'm sure it will, but since none except for a few examples have been revealed for sure yet, I thought I'd start a thread to let our imaginations run wild.
I'll start with my own suggestion. An achievement for reaching Clearbone Valley. As a player of almost 80 hours, who only recently made it to there for the first time, and who was only barely aware of it beforehand, I think it fits the game quite well. It's something very secret (as any good achievement should be) that requires many things to become available. The encounter itself is quite rewarding as well to have an incentive actually going there.
Hm, I'm not really into the mobile version, simply because I don't have a mobile platform.
But to contribute: How about a "Killing Spree" achievement? Like this:
(maybe something between 10 and 50? have no extensive experience about how hard higher kill streaks are...)
Well, and then there could/should be the casual achievements:
Back to Society: Get to DMC.
Scrounger/Scavenger/Survivor: Survive for 1 day/1 month/1 year.
And, of course:
Once bitten, twice shy?: Sell human meat at the junk market - twice!
*giggles maniacally*
Hrhrm, well, but those are pretty obvious, no? :)
EDIT: Just came to think about it: It's probably a good idea to flag the thread with [POSSIBLE SPOILER] or something like that. Or put the potential spoilers in the appropriate tags... which I just did. :)
Great ideas!
On the killing spree one
Casual achievements are certainly a must too. The way the game keeps track of time for the survival achievement makes that possible too.
For the
achievement, I think that's a great way to get new players on mobile experimenting with different skills. They may not like how they handled the encounter, and then they'll see "wait, I can do that!?" and then try to achieve it by experimenting with different skill combinations.
Your name for that last one was spot on too,
I suck at coming up with names so I didn't even try but you've got it down really well.
Yay! Achievements!
Commando: Kill seven DMC guards
Gorilla Warfare: Kill twenty DMC guards in one play through
Gambler: Eat some unidentified mushrooms
Spear man: Craft a broad spear
Gatherer: Use botany while scavenging a forest
Hunter: Kill a deer
Running Fortress: Get, and wear, a combat vest
Rar! Rar rar rar! Thanks for reading :)
Oh yes,
is quite hard.
Not sure if that required a spoiler tag though.
I put it all under a spoiler to save space.
Rar! Rar rar rar! Thanks for reading :)
When I read the gambler achievement I thought of this:
I don't know how hard it is to implement that.
Oh, and regarding the DMC Guards:
