when the flash loader is completed the screen turn black and the music starts to play. i cannot select anything and refreshing the page does not help. what shall i do?
And oldie and I would say goodie but not particularly
Go into the folder where the game stores save files, and delete the file named "nsPrefsv1.sol". It is a file that stores settings for the game, deleting it will reset them to the defaults.
didn't work. :(
Are you using both online and downloadable game versions? Cause if you do, there are two folders in different places, each for different version.
how would I get to the flash game one?
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\RandomString\bluebottlegames.com\main\sites\all\themes\genesis_bbg\includes\neoscavenger\NEOScavenger.swf\nsSGv1.sol
Macintosh HD:Users:UserName:Library:Preferences:Macromedia:Flash Player:#SharedObjects:RandomString:bluebottlegames.com:main:sites:all:themes:genesis_bbg:includes:neoscavenger:NEOScavenger.swf\nsSGv1.sol
Chrome: (The Chrome browser uses a different Flash plugin by default, which may store the save files in a different place.)
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot\#SharedObjects\RandomString\bluebottlegames.com\main\sites\all\themes\genesis_bbg\includes\neoscavenger\NEOScavenger.swf\nsSGv1.sol
More or less, somewhere in there.
how would I get to any of these. I am not a computer guru. :(
OK, first thing - what operating system and browser are you using?
im using windows and browser is internet explorer.
Alternatively, what happens if you load the web version in the resizable window? E.g.
You may be able to maximize the window and see the UI if the issue is graphics settings being too big for the Flash plugin box.

Which browser do you use?
What if you try to load it in incognito mode? (Or private browsing mode, depending on which browser you use.)
To chip in, a handful of regular fare questions to help determine the issue:
- What version of what flash player you use and when did you last update it? When the issue started showing up?
- Does your system partition undergo anything recently that may have disturbed some application's data/settings? Is there still free space on said partition/HDD in general?
- Well, uh, tried to restart the computer (yes, I know, but at times it does actually help)?
trhe newest version of flashplayer restarted it today and no my computer did not undergo anything recently and I have tones of free space.
Since you mention using IE, what happens if you try loading the game in a private browsing tab? You can enter InPrivate mode by following the steps here:
Doing it this way should start fresh, with no cookies or Flash SharedObjects, so we can rule those out.
correct I can now play your great game. :D
BUT NOW I cannot save -_-
This is good news! It means the only problem is that your cookies have stored a setting that causes the screen to be black. We just have to clear the cookies that are causing it, and then you should be able to play normally again.
If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8, you should see the cookies for the game in a folder like this:
Note that \UserName\ has to be your current user name on the OS, and \RandomString\ will be a unique value on your computer. My recommendation is to delete this entire folder:
And similarly, if there are any others that look like it, delete those as well. E.g.
If you've deleted the right one, you should see it get created again instantly as soon as you restart the game and change any settings.
I have a problem with the Demo.
I know that by playing the Demo you most likely won't reply
(I'm saving for a new PC, then I want to buy the game)
But anyway, whenever I go onto the game (http://bluebottlegames.com/src/nsDemoFullscreen.php)
It loads but then shows up with a black screen, the music is still playing, I can adjust the
sound and the cursor is the NEO Scavenger Default cursor, but I can't play it.
Thanks for your time,

Hi Mr Twig,
Does it work if you load the demo page in a private/incognito browser window? If so, this could be due to a settings file in your normal browser that needs clearing. Fixing that should be the same as in my post above yours, #18. Let me know if that helps!
I am on a ChromeBook and so the only things in my files are things I've directly downloaded from the web.
When I go onto the sites Cookies, it only shows bluebottlegame.com, nothing else. I'm not sure how to fix
this, so I appreciate your help :).
You should still be able to visit the site in incognito mode, right? I assume the ChromeBook uses the Chrome browser, so that feature should still be there.
If so, this will allow you to see the site as if you've never visited before, and we can determine if the cookies are what's causing your issues.
I't does work in incognito, I was just wondering if there was a way to fix it
so it would work in the usual internet browser. Thank you for you're help.
That's good to hear! That means it's just a cookie that's giving your browser a hard time. (i.e. The incognito mode is lacking that cookie, so the game looks normal.)
To solve this problem in your "usual internet browser," follow the steps in comment #18 above.
I don't know where to put this so I'll just put it here. A long time ago I bought the game for the full 15$ I play it a little thin my computer broke and I forgot this game. Now I want to play the game but I don't know the password I used, all I remember was the username puppysparks and I switched email so can't change it please help.
Try emailing the developer, there's contact information in the Contact page.
Sorry to bring this thread back up, I'm on a chrome book, I've cleared my cookies completely and uninstalled my flash emulator and reinstalled it, I can play in incognito mode and not normal even after following these steps.
"People wonder how anyone can be an outcast out here...Hang out with me and you'll understand"
Just to clarify, are you playing the browser version of the game? Or downloaded version? (It sounds like the browser version, but I just want to be sure.)
Also, is it the demo or the full version?
And when you say "uninstalled my flash emulator and reinstalled it," what is a Flash emulator? Technically, the browser should have a Flash plugin installed, and there shouldn't be a need for a separate emulator.
Sorry I was busy for the past few weeks
Full game Browser version, and my Chromebook does not support flash by itself so I have an app that acts as flash player to play properly. I have cleared my cookie and cache data, but I am stuck in full screen leaving me black screened.
Hm. Have you always used the Flash emulator? Or is that a recent change?
And you said it works in incognito mode, but not normal mode, right?
One thing that might be worth looking into is whether incognito mode uses a different Flash plugin. If you disable your emulator, does it still work in incognito mode?
Also, do you get different results if you try the game in windowed mode, instead of fullscreen?
Yes I have always used it on this computer and this is the first time I've encountered such a problem. I am not quite sure how I would go about playing in windowed mode, I play in the other tab in the browser, I can't leave full screen. And no incognito does not work without the flash installation.
Re: full screen, that was my mistake. I thought you meant the game was in fullscreen mode. That mode can be finicky sometimes, particularly on Linux due to poor Flash emulation. (E.g. ignored keyboard input)
Are you able to search your Chromebook for all files? I'm wondering if there might be a preferences file stuck someplace. It'd be called nsPrefsv1.sol, and there could be more than one depending on where your OS puts things.
Also, just to confirm, what do you see from the moment you launch the game? Do you see loading messages? Title screen? Stat bars? Or is it black before the game even starts to load?
Sorry about the late reply, I usually only get on here for important stuff. I managed to locate the file that was causing the issue, it was due to an update that added flash which was conflicting with the extension app. I had to delete the site from both memory files and purge all the cookies then re add the site to the permission for the flash player. Thank you for helping me though and I am glad to be able to play you're game again.
P.S. I tested this once more to make sure it was working. There is a problem with Chromebooks and the way they store cookies, leaving with fullscreen mode on will crash the game on the OS until cleared fully. Thank you again
Glad to hear you were able to start playing again! And I appreciate you following-up with info on how you solved it, in case others find this thread in the future.
I have to say, Chromebooks sound like another world to me. I'd have to relearn a lot to use them :)
