Is there a way to heal yourself except with the nano bots?
It seems that getting hit after having used all the nano bots from the start area is pretty much a death sentence.Even resting and having medic as trait doesn't seem to heal anything, without the nano bots.
So is there a way to make your own bandages or something?

I've just spent a lot of time healing without "Medic" skill or nanobots.  You are likely to die of thirst or get mugged before you heal, but it is possible.  Currently there is no way to make bandages (that I'm aware of) though it's been suggested that the dirty rags are there for that purpose (perhaps needing to be boiled in water first).  (If I hadn't accidentally eaten those poisonous mushrooms while scavenging that forest while healing, I might have done better.)

Just want to say that one REALLY has to watch out for that consume button... I was trying to move full backpacks around and ate about 8 poison mushrooms.  I couldn't drink water fast enough to keep up with my thirst.  It didn't help that I was trying to heal from my second mortal wound without either Medic or nanobots.  It's nice that we can't accidentally consume our lighter fluid anymore, but I think it would be nicer if we couldn't consume through our backpacks.

Considering that that scavenger shortly afterwards died of poisoning... yeah.  If only I were organised and disciplined you'd have a wonderful story.

I cannot get the 8 assorted nuts, screws and washers to become lockpicks, is it a beta recipe? (i only play demo for now...)

just wanted to say I feel kinda cheated that making lockpicks is beta only, they are so rare you may as well not have the lockpicking skill in the demo...

Maybe I'm a little nearsighted but... where is the junk market? as far as I know is a place to sell stuff and get food, I made my way to the glow but can't seem to find it, is it inside? how do I get in? thanks in advance

Question about Eagle Eye vs Binoculars; they seem to each have the exact same effect on their own. My question is, do the effects stack or is Eagle Eye simply obsolete once you find binocs?

Thanks to everyone who suggested the "Trapper" skill.

Neo Scavenger becomes a completely different game when you have the Trapper ability. (Spoiler Alert) You get access to a steady stream of meat, fir gloves and actually have something to keep you busy (hunting squirrel). I really look forward to companions in the game, because hopefully that means if you don't have the trapper skill, you can find a companion with it. Using skills for crafting and scavenging is so much fun.

I look forward to other game-changing skills in future updates.

Where did you found any information on plans to add companions? I never heard of that and seeing how the game engine is build it would be very hard to implement...

I may have misunderstood this post, but I thought he implied it was in the works (planned):

But personally I don't think it would be difficult *too* difficult to implement (if he wants the game to be like Shadowrun or Fallout 1 then he's planning for companions already). Combat is turn-based, so all you'd need to do is give every companion a turn, while swapping out the 'player' icon for each one. And even if companions can't fight with you, they could travel with you and you could make use of their "skills" during scavenging or crafting. If this game expands the way I think it will, companions would be a logic addition.

I'd understand it completely differently. Nickboom just states that there'll be more NPC in general, and there possibly would be some fitting to be companions while making quite some sense. But no, there was no official statement from Dcfedor that there will be companions, though I cannot be sure he didn't mention somewhere whether he'd like to add some (and there are many other things that need to be added too) one day, in rather vague period of time.

Given in how many areas the game still needs work and content, holding your breath while waiting for companions may be rather unhealthy at this time. Personally, I wouldn't mind some possibility of getting someone to wander through the land with myself but there are many other things I look forward to more.

Just thought I would post this but there is a mechanic in combat already that allows enemys to gang up on you.

Yup, no companions though and if I am not mistaken - also no UI finished for that, too.

Scavenger could you please respond nicer every time you post something I feel as if im geting yelled at.
If you read my post I never state that he is working on companions I simply state that he wants and has plans to add more NPC's.
Also there is indication that groups attacks are in the game check the sprint away ability "run from all enemys" with one enemy it is the same as a run away so yes he is planning for more group attacks as they are in the game just very rare.

Pardon, are you sure you meant me? I really didn't even criticized anyone, yet alone yell, I just said how I did understand your post when actually answering Orbitneo and claimed I don't recall official announcement from Dcfedor that companions will be added. As sad as it may be for some, those are facts but I don't plan to chastize anyone for thinking otherwise.

Exactly! And I did say that I don't think you stated that he is working on companions. It's Orbitneo who believed that you implied such. And if you refer to my answer 'Yup, no companions' it's because you specifically replied to my post with the bit about mechanics when we talked about companions and thus I regarded your post from the angle of the discussion. Hope it's understandable now.

No need to prove me anything as I never claimed otherwise. I still hope it's just misunderstanding but anyway - I didn't ever claim there are no indications, either - just that companions aren't in and that UI part which would support fight with multiple enemies at once isn't likely finished. I still am willing to support that opinion and I think in no way it opposes your findings.

Please concentrate on just what I write, without assuming that I attack you. Believe me, if I'd be looking to make someone feel bad, I wouldn't be here. Well, anyway, I hope everything's clear now!

Group fights will be a lot of fun. More fun if you have people on your side as well (AKA companions).

I really look forward to the game expanding combat.

So was there any change to hacking, mechanic and electrician in last updates? My first character is electrician mechanic and it made my cryo facility a great place to camp but it's not enough to justify taking them. More crafting based on those skills would be good.
