Downloadable Demo

Work on the downloadable versions continues, and today I think I got the demo setup for downloads. Now, when visiting the demo page, you should see some new buttons at the bottom:

NEO Scavenger Demo:

Or download as a .zip

Either will download the stand-alone demo for Windows. The .exe link is a stand-alone application, that can be placed anywhere on a machine and run by double-clicking. The .zip is just a zip file with the .exe inside, in case anyone prefers that format.

The demo will play through the Flash projector, which should allow you to resize and maximize the window. It even supports a "full screen" mode, which gets rid of the menu and border. The graphics are still a bit crunchy when scaling the window like that, and it won't fill widescreen formats, but it may be an improvement over the 800x600 normal size for some.

Linux and Mac Versions

You'll also notice some buttons for downloading Linux and Mac versions. They're not ready yet, but I put them there to let folks know that I plan to try. I'll need to setup a Linux box, and probably buy a Mac before either of those are ready, though. In the meantime, the web demo still works!

If you do end up trying the downloadable demo, let me know how it goes! I'll be testing the same process for the beta soon, so any issues that are found will help me get both the demo and beta downloads working more smoothly.

Thanks, and have a good night!
