New Beta Build: Combat Fixes
I've just uploaded a new beta build. It's still labeled v0.946b (doh! forgot to change it), but the timestamp next to the version should read August 10, 2012.
This build addresses a pretty major bug in combat which caused the game to crash if the player ever restarted or loaded a game after playing for a while. Usually, this resulted in an empty combat screen, a lot like this thread.
The new build should fix that issue, making it safe to restart/reload a game without having to reload the whole webpage.
A few other updates are included:
- Cut Wounds - There was a bug preventing cut wounds from causing adverse conditions, such as cardiac arrest and brain trauma. This bug has been fixed.
- Kick - The kick battle move was a bit too good, making it always the preferred move if available. Chances to cause the target to lose a turn have been decreased, but otherwise the move is the same as before.
- Time of Day - By popular request, the time of day (Dawn, Dusk, etc.) is now printed on the UI, below where the money is listed.
- Pills and First Aid - A bug was causing pills to appear in the wrong pill bottles in first aid kits. This has been fixed. Also the number of pills typically found in bottles has been adjusted such that bottles have a higher chance of at least 1 pill inside.
