New Beta Build: Skilled Battle Moves
I've just uploaded a new beta build, v0.946b (labeled August 9, 2012). It includes new battle moves, mostly for players/creatures with prerequisite skills.
The moves include:
- Threaten - Available to all creatures.
- Sprint Away - Athletic skill.
- Lure - Trapping skill.
- Head Butt - Tough skill.
- Leg Trip - Melee skill.
- Create Obstacle - Strong skill.
I've also changed each of the creatures to start with different skills. Some are strong or tough, others feeble and frail. Some brave, others cowardly. Some use intelligent tactics (lure, create obstacle), others are more brute-force.
Creatures should now have a bit more uniqueness in battle, not to mention how they notice and track targets on the map.
I've also made changes to how strong, feeble, and frail affect combat attacks. And the fixes mentioned yesterday, such as using stacks of items, and the tannin tea recipe.
Let me know if they cause any issues!
It may be time to update the demo soon too. I'll be looking into this in the coming days, trying to figure out what the best balance is for features vs. limitations. If you've played the demo, and something about it convinced you to buy/not buy the beta, let me know!
